Finding My Place

Hey there! My name is Rubait. I’m originally from the bustling city of Dhaka, but in 2018, I packed my bags and moved to the chilly yet charming city of Winnipeg to study Computer Science at the University of Manitoba. It’s been quite the adventure, filled with ups and downs, and I thought it would be nice to share a bit about myself and my journey so far.

I have a deep love for camping and the great outdoors. There’s something magical about escaping the noise of everyday life and finding solace in nature. It’s one of the few times I feel truly at peace, surrounded by the beauty of the wilderness.

Life as a student can be a whirlwind, and sometimes I find myself lost in the chaos, wondering who I am and what the future holds. Over the next few posts, I hope to explore these thoughts and maybe find some clarity. I’m on a quest to find my place in this vast world, and I invite you to join me on this journey of self-discovery.

By night, I work as a receptionist at a hotel. It’s a unique job where half of my time is spent greeting guests with a smile, and the other half is dedicated to running financial audits and closing the day on various terminal systems. It’s a blend of hospitality and paperwork, and I’ve been doing it for about three years now. Before this, I dabbled in various odd and gig jobs, which were quite unpredictable.

I also want to share a little secret: I’m a huge advocate for the legalization and decentralization of weed. It helps me function normally throughout the day, and I believe it should be accessible to everyone. It’s a topic close to my heart, and I hope to discuss it more in future posts.

Life is a bit of a rollercoaster, filled with twists and turns, but I’m excited to see where it takes me. Stay tuned for more posts as I navigate through this journey, one step at a time.
